Kiyawat v. God
Written by Leela Kiyawat
Directed by Fabiola Arias
We are in the Supreme Court of God, and you are the jury. Kiyawat is being put on trial before God for the skinning of her friend, Marylin Mary Mary-Anne. As legal logic dissolves into absurdity, this trial becomes a meditation on race, assimilation, identity, and judgment, destabilizing conventional ideas of justice and asking whether guilt, forgiveness, or belonging can ever be fairly decided. What will your verdict be?

“Someday you will actually die and you yourself will cease to exist, but your flesh will go on living. You will decompose and grow fungus and maybe, just maybe, a tall giraffe will eat you and shit you out into a lake and there your flesh will settle to the bottom, only to be sucked into a volcano and erupted into lava and then you might become a rock, or maybe you will become part of a mountain, or maybe you will become fish food, and maybe a nice woman will ingest you and you will live on in her skin, yes, you will live on in the skin of another woman, and I will be watching you.”
